New York and Philadelphia Americans had mixed feelings about whether they regretted their college major.

“I was a criminal justice major and I regret it,” one woman said with a laugh. “I really don’t like it. I would probably do art.”

But another graduate said, “I majored in computer science, and I would have left the same major.”

Almost 40% of college graduates regret their major, Washington Post analysis found earlier this year. among arts and humanities majorsalmost half wished they had studied something else, while STEM graduates tended to feel they made the right choice.

“I realized that my major is not very specific,” the international business major told Fox News. “I don’t really regret it, but when I started applying for jobs, I realized it wasn’t a specific field.”

“Most jobs were looking for a specific field, such as data analysis, software or accounting majors,” he continued.

Some suggested alternative ways.

“I think it would be better to go to a vocational school,” said one man in Philadelphia. “I think the opportunities in this area right now are probably great.”

Several in art told Fox News that they had found their passion.

“I got my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in musical theater and I don’t regret it because it’s my job,” said one woman. “I live here in New York. I’m a Broadway actor.”
