A man from Florida who went viral in a photo showing his unusually large neck behind bars again – this time on stalking charges.
Charles McDowell, 35, of Pensacola, Florida, was booked into the Escambia County Jail on Sunday charges of aggravated stalking and child support.
According to local television station WEAR-TV, McDowell allegedly showed up at the woman’s home on Aug. 24 and sent her threatening text messages.
McDowell gained internet notoriety in 2018 when he was arrested several drug busts. His photo went viral with hundreds of thousands of comments and shares due to his unusually large neck.

At the time, social media users left comments such as: “Leave this man alone! I bet he’d stick his neck out for you if you needed his help.’
Other users joked: “You people should be ashamed, all this nastiness is not right at all.”
McDowell wasted no time capitalizing on his fame. In social networks, he calls himself “broad neck”. Now he has 1 million followers on Instagram.
He released several rap songs under the name “Wide Neck”.
In 2020, McDowell collaborated with rapper “Daddy Long Neck,” a skinny man with an unusually long neck, to record a song called “Neckst Big Thing.” The song has almost 6 million views on YouTube.
The viral sensation is no stranger to law enforcement. He was arrested in Alabama in 2019 for allegedly leading police on a high-speed chase.
He was charged with eluding police, second-degree possession of marijuana, driving with a suspended license, reckless driving and improper lane usage.

McDowell is currently being held without bail on the stalking charge, police said.
