In the lead-up to Thanksgiving, when many families are preparing for the holiday feast, there is much more uncertainty about whether they will be able to put food on the table at all. With rents and food prices on the rise, food banks across the state are gearing up for a busy holiday season.
The Salvation Army of Montclair delivers 210 turkey meals a day throughout Essex County. They also serve Thanksgiving food. The place is planned to serve about 400 people. The volunteers say it was a great experience to prepare all this food.
