PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — When a parade comes to town, you know it’s a good time, and in 2022 6abc Dunkin’ Thanksgiving Day Parade in Philadelphia it’s a real holiday party!

This year, the nation’s first Thanksgiving Day Parade is back at Ben Franklin Park with the best hot air balloons, rides, marching bands and performances.

  • 20th Street from Market to Ben Franklin Parkway
  • 16th Street from JFL Blvd to Ben Franklin Parkway
  • Ben Franklin Parkway to the Art Museum

What do I need to know about parking for the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade?

Street parking is FREE on Thanksgiving Day. However, the “no parking” rules will remain in place, so please follow and obey the NO PARKING ZONES.

Will Philly’s streets be closed for the Thanksgiving Day Parade?

Street closures for the 6abc/Dunkin’ Thanksgiving Day Parade are in effect until the end of the parade:

Wednesday, November 23, 2022

– 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.- Eakins Oval between Kelly Drive and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive is closed for street rehearsals.

– 6:30 p.m. – Eakins Oval is closed for rehearsals and site construction until the parade concludes on Thursday, November 25.

– 8:00 PM – The exit lanes of JFK from 20th Street to 30th Street Station will be closed to vehicular traffic until the end of the parade on Thursday, November 24th.

Thursday, November 24, 2022

– 12:00pm – JFK Boulevard from 30th to 16th Street will be closed to vehicular traffic until the parade ends.

– 2 a.m. – 20th Street, from Ben Franklin Parkway to Race Street, will be closed to vehicular traffic until 11 a.m.

– 2 a.m. – Market Street, from 19th to 20th Streets, will be closed to vehicular traffic until the parade ends.

– 5 a.m. – 20th Street from JFK Boulevard to Arch Street will be closed to vehicular traffic until the parade ends.

– 6 a.m. – 20th Street, from Market Street to Ben Franklin Parkway, will be closed to vehicular traffic until the parade ends.

– 6 a.m. – Market Street, from 19th to 22nd Streets, will be closed to vehicular traffic until the parade ends.

– 7am ​​- Kelly Drive, from Sedgley Drive to Eakins Oval, will be closed to vehicular traffic until the parade concludes.

– 07:30 – The parade route is closed to traffic.

Roads will be opened as they are maintained and cleaned. All event-related road closures will be lifted no later than 3pm on Thursday 24 November.

Are there parking restrictions?

“No Temporary Parking” signs will be in place for the closures listed below. Vehicles parked during the hours below will be moved. If you think your car has been moved, call the police in the area where your car was parked.

– John F. Kennedy Boulevard from 19th Street to 30th Street (both sides)

– 20th Street from Market Street to Ben Franklin Parkway (both directions)

– Arch Street from 19th and 22nd Streets (both sides)

– Race Street from 16th Street and 17th Street (both sides)

– 17th Street from Vine Street to Rice Street (both directions)

– Vine Street from 15th to 17th Street (eastbound lanes)

– Market Street from 19th to 22nd Street (both sides)
