The French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe is struggling with what it calls a “large-scale” cyber attack in their computer networks.

The government is working with an unidentified specialist firm to limit the impact of the attack while trying to restore its systems as quickly as possible, officials said Monday.

The ad warning of the attack remained posted on the main website of the government on Tuesday.

It was not immediately clear whether it was hackers demanded a ransom and which public services may have been affected.

A government spokeswoman did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment.
