GAITHERSBURG, Md. – A small plane became entangled in power lines when it crashed in Maryland on Sunday night.

A single-engine plane flying from the Westchester County Airport hit power lines, knocking out power to 85,000 PEPCO customers in Montgomery County, CNN reported.

According to the FAA, the Mooney M20J crashed near the Montgomery County Air Force Base in Gaithersburg, Md., just before 6 p.m. Sunday.

Fortunately, the pilot and passenger on board were not seriously injured, but were stuck 100 feet in the air.
