Metallica returns to where it all began: New Jersey.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer will kick off the North American leg of their 2023-2024 M72 World Tour with concerts on Friday, August 4 and Sunday, August 6, 2023 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford. After that, it will be a year before the band heads to the East Coast to perform on August 2nd and 4th, 2024 at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts.

At MetLife Stadium, Metallica will be supported by a new Pantera configuration featuring Jackson’s Zac Wylde on guitar, Mammoth WVH featuring Wolfgang Van Halen on night one, and Five Finger Death Punch and Ice Nine Kills on night two.

New Jersey is the perfect starting line for North American tour dates. The late Johnny and Marsha Zazulyaformerly of Old Bridge, discovered the band and released their debut LP, 1983’s “Kill ‘Em All” on their Megaforce Records.

According to the tour announcement on Monday morning, each city will have completely different setlists for the two nights. Presented by Liquid Death and Metallica’s Blackened American Whiskey and promoted by Live Nation, two-day tickets for the show go on sale Friday, December 2nd via Ticketmaster, with single-day tickets going on sale Friday, January 20th.

Citi cardholders will have access to advance ticket sales from 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 30th until 10:00 PM on Thursday, December 1st. For more information visit cityentertainment.com.

Metallica returns to tour in support of 72 Seasons, their 12th studio album, due out April 14, 2023 via Blackened Recordings. Produced by Greg Fidelman with singer/guitarist James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich, the album contains 12 songs spanning 77 minutes. This is the band’s first collection of new work since 2016’s Hardwired … To Self-Destruct. The first single “Lux Æterna” is already out.

The 46-date tour kicks off on April 27, 2023 in Amsterdam and will travel around the world, concluding on September 29, 2024 in Mexico City. A portion of the proceeds from each ticket sold supports the Metallica All Within My Hands Foundation.
