CHERRY HILL – Starbucks may see a familiar neighbor here – another Starbucks.
The owner of an office complex wants to build a Starbucks in the parking lot of a shopping center in Cherry Hill.
It would go up at Haddonfield Road and Chapel Avenue, a few hundred feet from the existing Starbucks in the 500 block of Haddonfield Road, according to an application filed with the Cherry Hill zoning board.
There would be one big difference between the two coffee shops.
The proposed Starbucks expects to attract 60 percent of its customers with drive-thru services, according to the filing.

The existing Starbucks, which occupies a storefront in the strip mall, does not have a drive-thru.
A Starbucks representative did not respond to a request for comment on the prospects for the existing store.
The proposed approximately 2,500-square-foot Starbucks store would share the site with a 2,800-square-foot building designated for retail.

The second site will house a 9,366-square-foot kindergarten with a 6,159-square-foot playground. It will rise further up Chapel Avenue. on the eastern edge of the office center parking lot.
The kindergarten, which employs about 25 people, will serve about 185 children from infancy to 5 years. It also offers an after-school program for children up to 12 years old.
According to an application by the owner of the Brooklyn site, The Center at Cherry Hill LLC, no changes are planned to the three office buildings in the 13-acre complex.
The zoning board is expected to consider the proposals at its Dec. 1 meeting.
