WEST CHESTER, Pa. (WPVI) — Philadelphia sports fans love a good underdog team.

“We’re celebrating USA. World Cup, USA all the way,” said Jessica Jabra of West Grove.

That’s how the USA men’s soccer team was considered in the match against England. They are a tough opponent, but none of them were counted out.

“England is a great team and I love supporting them, but I also love and support the USA,” West Chester’s Jake Laws said.

The owner of Kildare’s in West Chester says the World Cup game means big business. The pub was packed before the game even started.

“I arrived at 11 o’clock this morning and there were already 100 people,” said Dane Gray, owner of Kildare’s.

The United States dominated in attack but were unable to overcome England as they were held to a 0-0 draw in their second game at the 2022 World Cup.

As a result, head coach Greg Berhalter’s team remains third in Group B with two points from two games. A win in their final group match against Iran on Tuesday will be enough to guarantee a place in the knockout stages.
