Austin, Texas – Austin tourists had their say on whether they preferred real or faux Christmas trees — and both camps had strong opinions about their choice.
“Definitely a real Christmas tree,” Anna told Fox News. “They give the house a different energy and warmth.”

But Aaron disagreed.
“I prefer fake Christmas trees,” he said. “They’re 10 times easier to set up and get.”
About 25-30 million real Christmas trees are sold in the US each year National Christmas Tree Association. Nevertheless, only 17% of adults surveyed in a Morning Consult 2020 survey they said they buy natural wood every year.

“The whole house smells like pine,” said one woman prefers natural trees said. “And I feel like it’s just not the same without it.”
Lindsay told Fox News, “It just brings the house to life. And it makes the tradition a little more silly.”
Anna said picking fresh pine is part of her family annual Christmas customs.

“It’s a big tradition in my family that every year we pick out real Christmas trees,” she told Fox News. “We’ll go anywhere from noble to Douglas fir to Fraser fir.”
Aaron said he didn’t like the physical work required buy a live tree.
“I had a real one before, but I didn’t like going out in the snow and taking it,” he told Fox News.
