“Putting aside the fact that this is a show designed to promote the breeding and sale of dogs when the country is in the midst of a dog overpopulation crisis that is leading to euthanasia and overcrowded animal shelters, this year’s Best in Show is shameful in another respect.” PETA Senior Vice President for Cruelty Investigations Daphna Nachminovich told Fox News.
“In other countries, including throughout Europe, the breeding of BIBs – breeds with breathing disorders – is referred to as ‘torture breeding’ because French bulldogs and other BIBs can suffer from an uncomfortable, debilitating and sometimes fatal condition called brachycephalic syndrome, which makes them struggle to breathe, run, play, or experience the joys that make a dog’s life worthwhile and make hot weather hell for them. PETA urges people not to breed or buy dogs, let alone those physically punished by breeders who robbing them of their real noses and forcing them to fight for something as basic and vital as breathing.”
On your website PETA wrote the following:
“Dogs expose exploitative dogs, which are often owned by groups of people who are just looking for profit and prestige. For example, NFL player Morgan Fox, who partially owns a group dealing with Winston, noted that the win brought him attention, which was broadcast for about 20 million viewers.”
PETA also attacked the eaters Thanksgiving turkey with a cartoon showing a family of turkeys eating a little roasted man for Thanksgiving.
