WOODBURY, Long Island (WABC) — Flames engulfed Nassau County’s second police station in Woodbury Saturday night.

Officials say that the building is so badly damaged that a new station building will have to be built.

Some people were treated for smoke inhalation but were not seriously injured.

Police say they were able to get important records out of the building and that there was no service failure.

Officers will now work closely with the 8th Precinct and trailers will be brought to the site so the community can continue to be served until the new station building is constructed.

Authorities say the cause of the fire is not suspicious but is under investigation.
