A A man from Florida was arrested for attempted murder after a woman was taken to hospital with an ax sticking out of her head.
Michelle Dougherty, 40, was charged with one count of attempted second-degree murder.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday to an attempted murder.

Deputies found a 56-year-old woman with an ax sticking out of her head. She was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Dougherty fled the scene of the attack before deputies arrived. Detectives found his vehicle later that day in Gainesville, Florida.
And shortly before 3 a.m. Thursday, Dougherty was stopped by an Alachua County sheriff’s deputy and taken into custody. He was then transported to the Alachua County Jail.

Dougherty will later be taken to the Pinellas County Jail Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
