Incumbent Hightstown County Councilman Joshua Jackson and running mate Todd Frantz were elected to the Hightstown County Council in the November general election.
Jackson and Franz, who are Democrats, ran unopposed for a three-year term on the Hightstown Borough Council.
Jackson received 1,131 votes and Frantz received 1,098 votes.
The unofficial vote count includes votes cast on Nov. 8, as well as early voting, mail-in voting and advance ballots, said Mercer County Clerk Paula Solami Kovela. The vote count does not include recorded votes.
The results will not be official until Salami Kovela has certified them with the State Department’s Division of Elections, which is expected to happen by Nov. 26.
Jackson and Franz said there are several major projects they would like to see completed, including the renovation of the former carpet factory.
The former Hightstown Rug Mill property, which is bordered by Bank Street, North Academy Street and North Main Street, is slated to be redeveloped under a plan approved in 2020. The plan calls for renovating the existing buildings and constructing new buildings for rental apartments.
Jackson and Frantz said they also would like to see the completion of the renovation of the former YMCA building at 230 Mercer St. to house the new Hightstown Borough Hall. It will replace the former municipal building that was flooded by Hurricane Irene in 2011.
