NASSAU COUNTY, LONG ISLAND (WABC) — A group of Nassau County kids got a special experience Friday when the USA and England played in the World Cup.

Youth soccer players gathered to watch the game live at the Mitchel Athletic Complex in Uniondale.

“If you guys are in a good mood and be really loud and make your voices heard, they’re going to get that atmosphere over there in Qatar,” said County Executive Bruce Blakeman, host of the event.

In the end, Team USA, which was the underdog, ended in a draw with England.

Ahead of the World Cup group stage, their hopes of advancing are still alive.
