Mackenzie Wilson, a former top aide to Gov. Phil Murphy, has been named general counsel at University Hospital in Newark.
Wilson served in the office of General Counsel Murphy from 2018 until leaving fourteen months ago to join one of the state’s leading law firms, Lowenstein Sandler. She became deputy general counsel in October 2020 when Matt Platkin, now serving as attorney general, left Loewenstein and was replaced by Parimal Garg.
In 2015 and 2016, Wilson and Garg clerked for Chief Justice Stewart Rabner of the New Jersey Superior Court.
State University Hospital announced Thursday that Ed Jimenez, former CEO of University of Florida Health Shands Hospital and a veteran of St. Joseph’s Health System in New Jersey, will become its new president and CEO.
While an undergraduate at George Washington University, she served as an intern for Representative Frank Pallone Jr. (D-Long Branch) and an intern for the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee during the 2009 cycle.
Wilson is a graduate of Seton Hall Law School and was a fellow at Praskauer Rose before joining Murphy’s staff in January 2018.
