PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) – According to Philadelphia police, one person was killed in a shooting in the Kensington area on Tuesday morning.

Officers said the shooting took place at a gas station near the intersection of Front Street and Leahy Avenue.

The 22-year-old man received shots to the head, shoulder, chest and knees, police said. He was rushed to Temple University Hospital, where he died of his injuries.

Elkins Primary School was soon closed for a short time.

Police said an arrest had been made, but more details have not yet been reported.
