TRENTON — The start of Trenton High’s basketball season has been delayed due to a power outage at the school.
Once the game got underway, the Tornadoes lit things up pretty well with a 91-38 win over a very young Steinert team in the season opener for both schools Friday night in a Colonial Valley Conference divisional game.
Chris Wilson had a career day with 27 points and 11 rebounds.
He had plenty of support as Antwan Bridget scored 18 and Calvin Moore had 16 for Trenton, which was without Davontae Hutson.
Logan Kaboski had nine for the Spartans (0-1).
Hightstown 66, Lawrence 42
HIGHTSTOWN — Robert Eaves led four players in double figures with 18 points as the Rams (1-0) cruised past the Cardinals (0-1) to start the season with a win.
Keenan Rice scored 14 points, while Ayush Singh and Yasin Elhasieni had 10 points apiece for Hightstown.
Brandon Ford led Lawrence with 16 points.
Ewing 62, Hopewell Valley 46
HOPEWELL TWP. — Cameron James scored 17 points, Grady Griffin added 16, and the Blue Devils (1-0) pulled away from the Bulldogs (0-1) after an even first quarter.
Ewing, which also got 11 points from Joel Sineus, used a 21-12 second quarter to take the lead and never looked back.
Jake O’Grady had 12 points and Kevin Ellis had 10 for Hopewell.
Nottingham 66, Allentown 45
ALLENTOWN — Jordan Raba and Donte Alexander each scored 15 points as the Northstars (1-0) used a 30-9 fourth quarter run to break open a game against the Redbirds (0-1), which was tied after three quarters.
Dom Raymond and JP Dickerson each had 12 points and Joe Lemley added 10, giving Chris Raba’s Nottingham five players in double figures.
Alex Greenbaum led Allentown with 15 points.

PRINCETON JCT. — Ben Jacqueline scored 26 points and led three players in double figures as the Pirates (1-0) opened their season with a win over the Crosstown Knights (0-2).
Kai Hanson added 11 points and Jay-Hova Bradley added 10 for the South.
Robert Rossi had 20 points and Malachi Jeffers-Viera had 17 for North.

LAWRENCE TWP. — Army’s Stasher Metelier scored 16 points, Jake Croce added 10, and the Irish (1-0) opened with a win over the Tigers (0-1).

POTTSTOWN, Pa. — Noah Payne scored 20 points for the Falcons (3-6), but it wasn’t enough to prevent a loss to their New York rival in the Mercer Invitational at the Hill School.
Number Burlington 57, Willingboro 44
COLUMBUS — Christian Naylor scored 28 points as the Greyhounds (2-0) reeled off back-to-back wins to open the season with a win over the Chimeras (0-2).
STEM Civics 66, Freedom Academy 28
EWING — Jadon English-Fulton had 17 points and Phillips Sherman had 13 as the STEM Civics (1-1) evened their record with a win over rival Pennsylvania.
