HUNTINGTON, N.Y. (WABC) — Hundreds of brave souls braved the frigid waters off Long Island on Sunday in support of a good cause.

The Suffolk County town of Huntington held its second annual Arctic Plunge to benefit Special Olympics New York.

The dive happened Sunday morning at Crab Meadow Beach.

Organizers are holding a competition for students and first responders to see who can raise the most money.

For those in New York, the Coney Island Polar Bear Club will be holding their New Year’s Polar Plunge.
