MOUNT HOLE – A woman from the town of Pemberton was found guilty of causing a fatal drug overdose.
A jury on Wednesday found 36-year-old Shannon McGuigan guilty of strict liability for drug-related deaths and other charges, the Burlington County Attorney’s Office said.
McGigan was accused of selling heroin with fentanyl to a 25-year-old woman, also from Pemberton, who was found dead by a family member in May 2017.
The prosecutor’s office did not establish the identity of the victim.
The jury, which began hearing Wednesday morning, also found McGuigan guilty of possession and distribution of drugs, as well as possession for distribution, prosecutors said.
McGigan, a resident of Tensaw Drive’s 100th Quarter, “was immediately taken into custody and will be detained pending sentencing,” the statement said.
Supreme Court Justice John J. Burke III scheduled the verdict for April 29.
