ABC’s “The View” started the year with a whirlwind, as co-host Whoopi Goldberg said, The Holocaust was not about race. Later that year, fellow host Sunny Hostin got into hot water for comparing Republican voters to Prussians.

On a January episode of “The View,” Goldberg said the Holocaust was not about race.

“It’s not about race,” Goldberg said. “It’s about man’s inhumanity to man, that’s what it’s about.”

Goldberg was suspended from the network within two weeks of her comments.

Co-host Sunny Hostin compared white Republicans to Prussians ahead of the midterm elections in one of her many jabs at Republican voters.

“I am also surprised by the issue of abortion. Just yesterday I read a poll that white suburban Republican women are now going to vote Republican,” Hostin said during a November episode of the show. “It’s almost like the roaches are voting for Reid [roach spray]right?”

She too defended her comments days later and accused one of her co-hosts of twisting her words.

“I used a metaphor, actually more of a comparison, and I said white women, Republicans, I just read a poll that suburbanites are voting Republican now, it’s like roaches voting for raiders. By the way, this was not my joke. Let me finish. It wasn’t my joke,” Hostin said on Nov. 8. “It was a joke I used on this show a few weeks ago targeting Latinos, and nobody had anything to say about it. The last thing I will say is that I followed up by saying they want to be in Gilead? Do they want to lose their rights? So you’re actually twisting what I said.”

The ABC daytime talk show also brought in two new Republican co-hosts, Alyssa Farah-Griffin and Ana Navarro. Navarro and Farrah Griffin, who both claim to be Republicans, replaced former co-host Meghan McCain after hosting the show for a year.

Farrah Griffin has often clarified her political beliefs by noting “as a republican” before offering her point of view, which is often rejected by her fellow presenters.

In 2022, Hostin swept black Republicans and Hispanics, including her Republican co-hosts.

“I feel like it’s an oxymoron, a black Republican,” she told guest host Lindsey Granger during a May episode of “The View.”

“I don’t understand either of you,” Hostin repeated, referring to Navarro and Granger. “I don’t understand black Republicans and I don’t understand Latino Republicans.”

Hostin also attacked Latino Republicans for “voting against” their vested interests and suggested that after the midterm elections, Latinos fell for the “fear tactics” of the Republican Party.

“I think they’re using fear tactics against the people of Central America, South America and Cuba,” Hostin said, discussing the GOP’s success with Hispanic voters. “They start with communism; they start with socialism. But they don’t really solve the problems that Latinos face. And I’m surprised we’re getting there.”

Actor John Leguizamo agreed with Hostin during a November episode of “The View,” saying that Latinos aren’t as “media savvy” and that “words that challenge us get us.”

‘THE VIEW’ CO-HOST SUNNY HOSTIN SHOUTS FOR ‘SEPARATION’, IGNORES NICKI HALEY’S COMMENTS

In 2022, The View hosts interviewed Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas and former Trump aide Kellyanne Conway in addition to several interviews with liberal lawmakers. The hosts were also joined by Senator-elect John Fetterman and Hillary and Chelsea Clinton.

During an October interview with Cruz, hecklers began shouting “the climate is miserable now” and one yelled “f— you” at the senator.

“We hear what you have to say, but you have to go,” Goldberg said before cutting to commercial. Co-host Alice Farah Griffin turned to Cruz and said, “they didn’t even protest you.”

Owners then ran into Cruz after he called out Democrats who denied the election results.

The audience booed Conway during an appearance on the show in May when she discussed her time in the Trump administration.

“Let me do something before you say anything else. Listen, this is The View, and this is her perspective, and she’s talking about what she feels and what she knows. Please don’t boo her,” Goldberg said. audience.

Conway sparred with Farrah Griffin over their former boss during an appearance after “The View” co-host asked how Conway still defends and continues to support Donald Trump.

“Alice, if you somehow think we’re supposed to think you saw the light instead of just seeing your name in lights, that’s not fair,” Conway said.

Farah chimed in and said it was “such a cheap shot.”
