Last month, the Bordentown Police Department (BTPD) announced it would
participation in the Berlington County Attorney’s Office (BCPO) “Right … to
Treatment, ”a drug treatment program that allows people to get off the streets
and to the police station to seek help without insurance.
The program will run every Wednesday at the Bordentown Police Department
in 1 municipal doctor from 10.00 to 16.00, working together with recovery coaches
from City of Angels, a nonprofit organization based in Hamilton that provides free
services to those struggling with addiction.
Right … before treatment allows people who are addicted to go to the police
offices without a record and be associated with treatment programs. Police
officers will work with them to clear warrants, and participants are allowed to appear
any drugs or narcotics that are in them and not be charged with an offense.
Insurance is not necessary for assistance, as is living in Burlington
county.
“With the addition of the Bordentown Township location we have increased once again
areas of the program and will be able to provide services more efficiently
those who seek to overcome drug-related disorders and turn their lives around. ”
This was stated by Berlington County Attorney Scott A. Coffin. “I am grateful to the head of the township Brian Pescha and the City of Angels for their partnership and willingness to offer this
a very necessary service. “
Peshe urged those in need to take advantage of the program.
“Everyone who comes to our office asking for help will be processed
compassion, and our ultimate goal is to help these people break the circle
drug addiction, ”he said.
Since the establishment of the program in the city of Ivsham in March 2018, more than 500
people were assisted under the program. Right … for treatment
in September 2018 it expanded to the town of Pemberton, in April – to the city of Burlington
2019 and on Mount Holly in October 2020
Other drug treatment sites are serviced by the Maryville branch
Center, Oaks Integrated Care, and Solstice Wellness & Counseling.
