Hackensak meridian Health launches the New Jersey Innovation Challenge to drive innovation and subversive solutions of New Jersey companies. The goal is to add to comprehensive networking strategies to continually improve patient experiences and patient outcomes across the state.
“We encourage companies across New Jersey to play a role to help us transform healthcare,” said Robert C. Garrett, FACHE, CEO of Hackensack Meridian Health. “The best ideas sometimes use fresh approaches from a variety of perspectives. Our healthcare network is proud to find new ways to do even better. ”
The challenge is to reduce 30-day readmission in: acute myocardial infarction (AMI); chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD); heart failure (HF); pneumonia; coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery; and elective primary total hip arthroplasty and / or total knee arthroplasty (THA / TKA).
Applications are accepted from May 6 to July 15. Online applications can be submitted here.
Participants must be companies registered in New Jersey and must apply to submit their concepts to Hackensack Meridian Health. Companies must also have: a minimum profit of $ 50,000 for the past 12 months; a viable product or solution ready for piloting or testing; established a core team to manage the program and support the pilot activities; initial capital of at least $ 100,000; as well as a business plan for 2-3 years of projected growth.
If the application is accepted, it will be followed by a virtual session with experts on the subject and system managers to reduce the number of applications to three. These three applications will then be addressed in Hackensack Meridian Health’s Bear’s Den’s innovative program. The three leading companies will benefit from a number of different opportunities from pilot implementation of their solutions, strategic development relationships, and potential investments in their company.
“We always strive to improve what we do through research and ideas,” said Igor Savchuk, MD, FACS, Hackensack Meridian. HealthPresident of Academic Science, Research and Innovation, as well as Deputy Dean for Clinical Integration and Professor and Honored Chair of Urology at Hackensack Medical School. “New ideas are a way to drive progress, and New Jersey is at the forefront of innovation. We want to work together to communicate these decisions to our communities so that we can become better. “
