East Orange Mayor Ted Green has backed MP Donald Payne Jr. (D-Newark) for re-election in New Jersey’s 10th District.
“Congressman Payne is a leader we can count on to get the job done, so he was able to allocate more than $ 40 million in federal grants and East Orange funding in 2021,” Green said. “Congressman Payne understands the needs of our community and works hard every day to provide federal resources to make our streets safer, provide more affordable housing and quality health care.”
Payne has already received approval from Newark Mayor Ross Barack and Jersey City Mayor Stephen Fulop.
East Orange is the third largest city in the district.
Green said “East Orange stands behind Congressman Payne 100%.
“Our team will stand up for him in first class just as he has always stood up for us in Congress.”
Payne faces the challenge at the primaries from the Democratic Party of Achilles Halfani, a sociology professor at Essex County College, and a tramp from Mountbank Iman Oakley.
