The contaminated site in Trenton is proposed for major reconstruction Video

Roebling Steel has untwisted the ropes that hang the Golden Gate Bridges and the Brooklyn Bridges. But over the decades the factories collapsed and finally closed. Now this place is an overgrown ruin in the northwest corner of the iconic part of Trenton Chambersburg. That may change quickly.

The derelict area – abandoned, industrial, environmentally unsafe – is one of the few large multi-storey buildings left for reconstruction in Trenton, and the city is asking for proposals for its reconstruction. New Jersey is offering loans and grants under the new Office of Economic Development program to help attract investors to rescue and renovate such old facilities across the state.
