Casey Knuckles scored two shots, and Tommy Manzo’s shot in the second inning brought a single session when fourth-seeded St. Joseph of Montvale beat ninth-placed Ramap 1-0 in the Bergen County semi-finals in Demorest.

Knuckles took just 72 innings and one hour 22 minutes to cross out six and pass one, sending his team last Monday at 11am in Demorest. He will meet No. 15 Old Tappan, the third seeded, to come forward with a 6-2 victory over No. 11 and Ramsey’s second seed.

Knuckles did not give up until the fourth inning when Ramapa (15-14) made all three hits in a row to load the base. But Knuckles knocked out the next bier and then caused a relegation that turned into a double play when Matt Bedrin was thrown off a plate trying to score.

Manzo rode in the only series of the game in the second with his head clenched to kill Julian Rondon after a wild field on the strike put the runners on first and third.

Knuckles was ahead of Nick Logothetis, who also played a full game for Ramapa.
