SOUTH RIVER – Due to fire hydrant tests taking place tonight, Wednesday, March 9, in the Whitehead Avenue area of South River, residents may experience low water pressure and / or discoloration of the water.
Testing will begin at about 10 p.m. and is expected to continue overnight, according to information provided by the South River Department of Public Works.
In connection with the repair of fire hydrants in the area of the old bridge and Kamm Avenue, residents may experience low water pressure and / or discoloration of the water, the statement said.
The repairs will be carried out tomorrow, Thursday, March 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
During the repairs, the territory of the highway of the Old Bridge and Kamm Avenue will be closed or the traffic regime will be changed, the report says. Motorists should expect delays in the area and plan another route if possible.
Passing cold water for a few minutes as well as flushing the toilet once or twice can in some cases remove any discoloration, the statement said.
If the water has changed, avoid washing until the color returns to normal.
