Last night Robert J. Menendez raised more than $ 200,000 to raise money at the Hudson House in Jersey City in support of his Democratic nomination to Congress in New Jersey’s 8th District.

The headliners of the event were US Senator Corey Booker, Governor Phil Murphy and the candidate’s father, Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Bob Menendez.

Menendez is the favorite to replace MP Albio Sires (West New York), who is not running for re-election to the House of Representatives, which he has held since 2006.

It is unclear how much Menendez raised for his bid to Congress. The first quarter of 2022 ends March 31, and reports are due April 15.

Authorized by the Port Authorities of New York and New Jersey, Menendez has the support of the Democratic Organization of Hudson County, Essex and Union.
