Proposed Law on Prosecuting Housing Appraisers for Discriminatory Housing Practices | Video

Housing lawyers are behind the proposed legislation, which will bring to justice housing appraisers involved in discriminatory practices. In the case of a license, appraisers may suspend or revoke such practices. The Fair Housing Act of 1968 requires appraisers to provide a fair appraisal of housing regardless of race, but advocates say daily discriminatory practices continue to occur in New Jersey, despite being one of the most diverse states.
