“She’s wearing leopard-colored pajamas,” said Sergeant James Kelly of the Upper Moreland Police Department.
However, the woman escaped. In total, according to police, the woman and the man stole items worth about $ 12,000.
Police said the two incidents took place on February 22 and March 7 at the GIANT supermarket on York Road in Willow Grove.
They were inside for about 45 minutes. The first time they stole things worth about $ 4,500, and the second time – about $ 7,500.
Each time officials say the couple loaded their carts and calmly walked past the front desk and out the door.
Police believe they are stealing to maintain their drug habit.
“They take everything that’s easy to resell, and Kensington has a market for that, and stores will illegally buy products and then sell them,” Kelly said.
Police say they have noticed the model in the surrounding counties, where these brazen thugs will not stop until they are caught.
Authorities believe they could have stolen from other giants in the area, including the Flourtown Giant on March 4, by stealing similar items that carried about $ 5,000.
They were dressed in the same clothes and drove in the same car.
They were last seen on a silver Toyota Rav4 without license plates.
