Nassau County Police are investigating four incidents in Vantaga, Levittown and two in Masapekwa after police in Deer Park reported earlier this week that a 12-year-old girl was hit in the eye from a shot fired from a passing car.
Police say the girl was walking in the Tanger Outlets parking lot in Deer Park on Monday around 5:30 p.m. when she was hit in the eye.

“It’s a horrible incident,” Suffolk County Police Commissioner Rodney Harrison said. “We had a car passing by, our criminal showed something like a firearm, found out it was a gun, shot someone, we are almost sure it was not a young lady. She was hit in the eye. Thank you Lord, she has no serious injuries. “
The girl was taken to hospital with incompatible injuries.
Police are still searching for a vehicle described as a dark four-door sedan, possibly a Hyundai Elantra, believed to have contained three or four men.
“I don’t know, I don’t understand,” said neighbor Susan Peterson. “It doesn’t make sense to me. Don’t they have a better time?”
At least one more incident has been reported in Suffolk, and police in both counties say they are working together to find out if the shootings are related or could be caused by social media.
There have been no detentions so far.
Detectives turn to the police to anyone who has information about the shooting.
