WEST BAVILON, Long Island (WABC) – A New York City police detective on duty shot a man in the face who allegedly tried to steal his home on Long Island.
The shooting happened around 3:30 a.m. Saturday on 5th Avenue in Western Babylon.
The future robber was taken to hospital and is expected to survive.
Suffolk County detectives are investigating.
