From New Jersey’s growing offshore wind industry to decarbonization jobs, the state’s green workforce has countless career opportunities. On Wednesday, the Murphy administration announced $8 million to further develop the green jobs sector.
The Office of Climate Action and the Green Economy (OCAGE), along with the state Department of Environmental Protection, announced that $5 million of this allocation will go to those entering the workforce – with a focus on overburdened communities. $3.75 million will go toward grant programs that expand offshore wind training.
“As we work to protect our vulnerable communities from the effects of climate change, we’re also ensuring they have the resources they need to reap the optimal benefits of our state’s transition to a 100 percent clean energy economy,” the governor said. Murphy in a statement.
