In New York’s 7th constituency, the fight for Republican election to Congress leads to a second round after former Senate minority leader Tom Keane Jr. led 27-year-old businessman John Henry Eisman in the first vote with 12 votes.

Keane received 48 votes, followed by Izeman with 36. MP Eric Peterson (R-Franklin) is in third place with 23 votes, and Phil Rizzo, a former pastor and developer, last with 20 votes.

Four candidates are looking for an opportunity to challenge MP Tom Malinowski (D-Ringoes) in the constituency, which has become much more Republican after the constituency change in Congress.

In 2020, Keane reached 1% of Malinowski’s deviation.

Last month, Keane won the Hunterdan County Republican convention after a second round with Peterson. Izeman took a strong third place in this race.
