The TV star, perhaps best known as the host of “Diners Drive-Ins and Dives,” said he hopes the series will inspire people to be creative in their own kitchens.

The new season is bigger and better than ever. The bracket-style tournament shows how chefs – or “culinary athletes,” as Fieri calls them – from the East and West Coasts spin a “randomizer,” a wheel that defines each chef: protein, foods, equipment, cooking style and time. .

Fieri is not only the face of the show, he is also the reason for its existence. He proposed the concept almost three years before it was published online.

“It took a long time to sell it online. Then as soon as we contacted, I tried to explain to my chefs, my brothers and sisters that this was what they needed to do. They think you’re crazy “Season 1 was amazing. The second season was incredible. You know, we were dealing with a pandemic,” he reasoned.
Big expansion, big money
However, the third season has expanded significantly, he said. Not only did the number of chefs double from season 2 to season 3, but the cash prize became the largest.
“It’s about honoring all the great chefs, competitors. They really are legends about the grid. These are things in your place,” Fieri added.
The chef with hairy hair has promised that viewers will finish watching the series with some new chefs to keep up with the inspiration.

The premiere of “Tournament of Champions III” took place on Food Network and Discovery + on Sunday, February 27, and will end on Sunday, April 17, at 20:00 on ET / PT. Only one chef will become a champion.
