The politically active construction union from North Jersey, which has ties to the Republicans, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Engineers Local 102, backed MP Mickey Cheryl (D-Moncler) for re-election for a third term in the 11th arrondissement of New Jersey.

“Mickey Cheryl is a leader who knows how to bring people together and cut red tape to improve the lives of New Jersey residents,” said Patrick R. Dele Cava, IBEW Local 102’s business manager. trade union apprenticeship programs, engaging infrastructure projects in New Jersey, and supporting working families during a pandemic are just the leadership we need, and we are proud to support it for re-election. ”

Della Cave was the proxy of the super PAC in the alliance with the application of former Republican Chairman Doug Steinhardt to nominate a Republican candidate for governor. Assembly Member Christian Baranka (R. Jefferson) is a member of IBEW Local 102.

While the union has contributed to Sherrill in the past, it marks its first approval by IBEW Local 102.

Republicans have not yet decided on a candidate to challenge Cheryl, although a large number of potential contenders are lining up. This field should narrow after the Maurice County GOP convention on March 4th.

“I am proud to have earned the support of IBEW Local 102 men and women, and I am ready to continue our work together to make New Jersey the best place for working families,” Cheryl said. “Our unions are the backbone of our economy, and we have so much left to do to continue to bring well-paid union work to New Jersey, uphold workers’ rights and ensure that the next generation of New Jersey workers has every chance of success. ”
