A Republican Republican candidate from New Jersey says the bizarre video, obtained illegally, was actually a game where he portrayed John Belushi playing Joe Cocker, posing as the Prince as gay.
Michael Blasi, a realtor who challenges representative Christopher Smith (R-Manchester) at the primaries of the 4th district of GOP, said that his characteristics have no homophobic intentions.
“I was having fun with friends in a private situation,” Blazy told the New Jersey Globe. “I don’t find anything wrong with that. I thought it was hysterically funny. “
A U.S. Army veteran and former law enforcement officer, Blasi said he was just having fun with his friends. He said the event took place “a couple of years ago” but did not remember when.
Blasi said another participant in the evening “said the impression that Gene Simmons played Barry Manila”.
“You know how Saturday night live sketch“he said.
Blasi claims that the video obtained by the NJ Globe is out of context and said that “the person who sent it is more homophobic … these people have nothing better in their time.”
“It has never been published (online). Someone hacked someone’s phone, “said Blazy, who threatened to sue the man who posted the video. “I am a very difficult person. I have several lawyers in the state. “
Blazi is one of five Republicans challenging Smith at the GOP District 4th Primaries.
Smith, a 21-term congressman, also faces conservative podcaster Mike Crispy, English City Council member Daniel Francisco, attorney Mike Burg and longtime candidate Trisha Flanagan.
