The Eagles and the rest of the NFL will begin a frenzy of signing free agents and trading Monday afternoon with a so-called period of legal falsification.
Nothing official until Wednesday at 4pm when the new league year begins.
For the Eagles, this gives them a few more days to decide the fate of several of their free agents, including defender Derek Barnett, bodyguards Rodney McLeod and Anthony Harris and corner defender Steve Nelson.
Maybe no one will come back.
In addition, the Eagles currently have about $ 17.3 million in salary, but that was before center Jason Kells signed a new annual return contract. This could actually lower the Eagles wage cap for 2022, guaranteeing Kelche money in 2023.
Eagles could release many more millions by restructuring other contracts.
Their biggest needs for a free agency are wide reception and security. In a wide receiver they could chase someone, such as Ju Ju Smith-Schuster of the Steelers or Zach Pascal of the Colts. Safe it could be someone like Marcus May of the Jets, Justin Reed of Texas or Quandra Diggs of the Seahawks.
The Eagles also have a place to trade for a star player or sign one or two players for what they currently have.
So here’s a tracker of all the Eagles ’action when the league’s new year begins:

No chance of trading for Deschana Watson
GM Eagles Howie Roseman has made it clear that Jalen Herts is a starting defender. He also said he was exploring any possible ways to improve his team.
Yes, yes, it was reported that Roseman was considering trading on Watson back last year. The grand jury on Friday did not accuse Watson of sexual assault, paving the way for him to play in 2022, although he could face deviation from the NFL. Watson also faces 22 civil lawsuits for sex crimes.
However, the Eagles are reportedly not one of the teams involved. It is possible that the Eagles checked on Watson and were not satisfied with the charges. It is also possible that Watson made it clear that he would not abandon the ban on trade to come to Philadelphia.
In any case, it seems that the Eagles will enter 2022 with the Hurts and will use the draft and money of free agents to improve the team around them.
Will Fletcher Cox trade?
The Eagles are reported to be taking calls on Cox, their best defensive roll in the last 10 seasons. But the Eagles will get $ 25 million if they trade them. However, that was what they considered last October, so it’s no wonder they did it again.
In the end, they took the NFL record of $ 34.7 million dead money last year when they traded Carson Wentz for the Colts. But the rest of Wreath’s salary is not taken into account in the Eagles. And that will be the case starting in 2023, when they will trade Coke.
The Eagles will also listen to suggestions on Andre Dillard’s left-hand run, their pick in the first round in 2019, who is Jordan Mailata’s backup. However, Dillard has made nine career starts, and a team like the Bengals could be a trading partner.
