Raphael Rivera showed us the bruises on her hands after she took off the man who she said accidentally hit her angel son.
“I was outraged,” she said.
She was with her 4-year-old child and her daughter Carmen on Thursday afternoon in Times Square.
“He just finished a photo shoot for a modeling agency,” she explained.
When the trio decided to enjoy a wonderful day in the city, that’s when the 7th and 46th Carmen noticed an amazing man.
“He was moving strangely, as if very close to people,” Carmen said.
The moment this guy approached.
“I heard a cheek as if someone had been hit on the head with a bottle,” Raphael said.
That blow to the head was her son Angel.
“I looked at him and fell on my head,” Angel said.
“I turn around and the baby screams, screams and cries,” Raphael said.
She was the wrong mom to mess with.
“I grabbed him tighter and we both went down. He was on me and I wouldn’t let go,” she said.
“I went to help my mom because my mom had a boyfriend,” Carmen said.
“My daughter says that when he was down, she tried to kick him because he kicked him and he spat on her,” Raphael said.
With the help of two other good Samaritans this man was arrested.
Police identified the suspect as Babakar Mbaye. He is now accused of assaulting and threatening the welfare of a child.
