Chris Watts, who is serving a life sentence for the murder of his wife and two children in 2018, wrote a text message to his mistress after the murders, saying he “did not offend my family”, according to a new video posted by the Shannon Watts family.

The video shows Watts’ mistress, Nicole Kessinger, in an interview with The Colorado Bureau of Investigation of 16 August 2018

“If you did something bad you ruined your life and if you did something bad you ruined my life,” Kassinger allegedly wrote to Chris Watts. “I promise you that.”

“I didn’t hurt my family, Nicky,” Chris Watts said.

Said Kessinger Colorado Agents of the Bureau of Investigation, this was the last time she spoke to Chris Watts.

Chris Watts strangled his wife, who was then 15 weeks pregnant, on August 13, 2018, and then drove her body to the oil company he worked for, where prosecutors said he buried her and her two children, Bella, 4 years, and Celeste, 3.

Authorities believe that Chris Watts killed his family because of the novel. Shannon Watts told Chris that he would no longer be able to see their children after saying their marriage was over and then strangled her in their bed.

Nicole Kessinger said Chris Watts told her he was ending the divorce process with his wife and that a month after their relationship he told her the divorce was final.  She reportedly applied for a name change in the damn Netflix documentary, which details the events that led to Watts killing her family.

In an interview with police just three days after Chris Watts killed his family, Kessinger said he was not wearing an engagement ring when they met, and did not disclose that he was in a relationship, and said that she didn’t have to see everything as far as the way he talked about his family.

“It wasn’t unusual and wouldn’t scare me,” Kassinger said. “So far, even after everything I’ve learned, I still look back on it and don’t see any red lights in the way he talked about his family.”

Chris Watts and Kessinger met while working at Anadarko Petroleum Corporation.

In 2018, the Daily Mail reported that Kessinger had applied for a name change in Jefferson County, Calaria, following the release of the Netflix documentary about the events that led to the arrest of Chris Watts.
