Ready to get cheese?
March 24 marks the National Day of Cheese Steaks. Debate unfolds over which city or state has the best cheese steaks. Some will forever say it’s Philly, but those of us who are on the other side of the bridge may have something to say about it.
In South Jersey, there are dozens of places where cheesecakes are prepared, which are actually prepared without paying for the bridge and parking fees.
Some are establishments, especially Donkey’s Place in Camden, where celebrities have dined for decades, and even network television has taken note.
Medford and Mount Holly also have Donkey’s establishments where customers can get these famous Kaiser sandwiches with poppy seeds.
And there are many other eateries where cheese steaks are the name of their game. Chick’s Deli in Cherry Hill, Gaetano’s from Willingboro, Yellow Submarine in Maple Shade, and beginners with new types of cheese steaks that you can try.
