Dan Bongin checked fact-checkers on Saturday, accusing the media of “information manipulation” on “Unfiltered».
Dan Bonjin: Propaganda in war is not new. Each side will do it. Putin is doing well. They distort the truth. But the left is also engaged in information manipulation. Well, what do I mean? Let’s start with the self-proclaimed guardians of the truth. The media is checking the facts that have been breaking this almost every week for the past few months. Let’s check out the fact-checkers during today’s show. How about this? Failure check number one, according to truth fighters in PolitiFact, “the United States has not doubled oil imports from Russia in the last year.” See here, people. Well, a good attempt, but it turns out yes, the United States has actually doubled its crude oil imports from Russia in 2021. That’s the joke of this whole thing. PolitiFact even mentions this in the 10th paragraph of its original story. To me that sounds like propaganda, doesn’t it?

Here is failure number two. Who could have forgotten this gem when the whole world saw Joe Biden look at his watch during a ceremony honoring the fallen U.S. servicemen who died in Afghanistan? We watched it. USA Today has unleashed its fact-checking army to intervene. Why? Why even pay attention to it? The newspaper then had to write an amendment after its own false fact-checking.
FLASHBACK: THE CASE AGAINST KYLE RITTENHOUSE JUST BECAME LESS
Failure check number three, we could go on here all day, people. Remember before the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse, the politician insisted that it was “perfectly legal” for Rittenhouse to carry a gun? But during the actual trial, the judge dismissed the charge of using weapons against Rittenhouse. And the fact-checkers tried to explain their mistake. Listen, the media. You have one job, boys and girls: to keep us informed. It’s your one job, your one job, and yet you keep failing over and over again.
