The San Antonio Spurs released first-round draft pick Josh Primo this weekend, sending shockwaves around the league.

Only 19 years old, Primo has consistently been viewed as an integral part of the franchise’s future plans.

Less than 24 hours after Spurs made their move, news broke that their decision came as a result of multiple allegations that Prima exposed himself to women.

The the gruesome details of what the young man did specifically came out soon after.

On Monday San Antonio Express-News reported that former Spurs consultant psychologist Dr Hilary Cotten is one of the women who accused Primo of indecency.

“Tony Busby will discuss the allegations made by Dr. Cotten and others against NBA player Josh Primo, the events leading up to Primo’s exit, the veracity of recent public statements made by both the Spurs organization and Primo, interactions with people in the San Antonio Spurs organization, and the expected path forward ,” according to a press release obtained by the San Antonio Express-News from the Buzbee Law Firm.

“Dr. Cotten will be in attendance to make a public statement and answer pertinent questions.”

Both Buzby and Dr. Cotten are set to address the issue on Thursday.

Later on Monday ESPN NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski provided clarity on what Primo’s future looks like in the NBA and why no one has claimed him off waivers.

“There is significant interest in monitoring Primo’s future among multiple NBA teams,” team executives told ESPN, but claiming the 19-year-old Primo would require a team to pay him more than $8 million in salary through the 2023-24 season — a significant risk, given uncertainty surrounding his current situation,” he wrote.

This has been a tough year for the NBA on many fronts. You have rappers publicly threatening the stars with bodily harm for bad shooting, players exposed to their ex-momsside chicks successfully capturing big names with children, and of course debacle Name of Udok.

Now this is a matter to be dealt with.

It will be interesting to see where Primo goes.

At the moment, he is persona non grata in the league. But circumstances can change quickly when you’re as talented as he is.

What future awaits young people?

Time will tell.
