According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Continental Mills, the company that makes the mixture, issued a recall after finding fragments of cable in some boxes.
As of Saturday, customers found no contaminated food and were not injured.
The FDA is asking anyone who has purchased a pancake mix with the best before September 9, 2023, to throw it away or return it for a refund.
“Food safety is a top priority for Continental Mills, and the company is acting promptly for consumer safety,” the company wrote in a press release posted on the FDA website. “Continental Mills works with the FDA and retailers to ensure that any affected product is immediately removed from the market.”
