UNIONDALE, Long Island (WABC) — A teenager was stabbed during an altercation at a Long Island high school on Monday.

It happened at Uniondale High School just before 3 p.m

Police say the 15-year-old stabbed the 17-year-old several times in the neck, back and stomach.

The suspect fled the scene and was later apprehended by Nassau County Police.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where he is now in a stable condition.

Uniondale High School will be open Tuesday, with social workers and psychologists on hand for students and staff.
