The authorities determined a pedestrian who was stuck and killed by a New Jersey Transit train Monday near Westwood Station as an 88-year-old woman.

Cecile Archer, of Westwood, was struck by a Pascack Valley Line train at 9:47 a.m. in the area of ​​Broadway and Jefferson Avenue, a New Jersey Transit spokeswoman said.

The train was headed from Hoboken to Spring Valley, New York. Traffic was suspended for about three hours and a new bus was arranged.

The New Jersey Transportation Police are still investigating how Archer ended up on the tracks.
