Tom Petrikoski, who spent nearly seven years as Cory Booker’s spokesman, has joined the New York Port Administration and New Jersey as director of corporate communications.
Last month, Petrikoski resigned as Booker’s deputy director of communications. He worked for Booker’s presidential campaign in 2020, and previously worked for MP Bill Pascrell Jr. (D-Patterson) and the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission, where he began his career as a scientist involved in water quality monitoring programs.
Booker praised Petrikoski, who was an integral part of his immediate entourage.
“Tom Petrikoski is a talented communications specialist whom I have trusted to be a leader on my team for the past five years,” Booker said. “He has brought toughness and grace to the hard work of taking on the hardest and biggest problems in New Jersey, and although his departure is a loss to my office, it is a huge benefit to the Port Authority and the millions of people they serve . I am so proud of Tom and the next chapter of his career. ”
According to Ben Branham, chief communications officer, Petrikoski, who is loved by national and local reporters, will head the media relations department at the two-state agency.
“Port management will benefit from his experience in leading a full-service communications team and developing long-term communication strategies,” Branham said.
