SCRANTON, Pennsylvania (WABC) – New Jersey is sending 100 members of the National Guard to the capital ahead of planned truck protests.

The protests are expected to be similar to demonstrations that killed streets in Canada.

A column of protesters from the northeast is already heading to Washington, DC

They left Scranton, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday morning and plan to stay in Harrisburg and Baltimore before arriving in Washington next week.

Truckers and their supporters are protesting against all COVID-19 mandates and restrictions.
