BEDFORD STUEVESANT, Brooklyn (WABC) – A woman was found dead in an apartment building in Brooklyn, where a fire broke out on Saturday night.

Officials say the blaze broke out in a four-story apartment building on Tompkins Avenue, 367 in Bedford-Stavesant after 11 p.m.

Firefighters found a 74-year-old woman unconscious on the third floor after putting out a fire with three alarms.

Police are looking for the man who stole the car with the 11-year-old boy inside, and the victims are talking to Michelle Charlesworth about the ordeal.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

One firefighter received non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
