MINEOLA, LONG ISLAND (WABC) – A million meters – or 621 miles – is the distance a Long Island high school graduate wants others to row, walk and run with him this month to raise money for the American Heart Association. .

Noah Marotta is the best rower at the Shaminada High School in Minneol.

In recognition of the American Heart Month, he hopes to inspire others to also adopt healthy heart habits through exercise.

The goal for him is very personal – both grandfathers underwent heart surgery.

Marotta is just over halfway to his goal of raising $ 10,000 for the American Heart Association.
